Attack of the mutant plot bunny from Hell

Could this be the weirdest plot bunny of all time? [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat and I were talking about the odd web-searches that find their way to my site, and I mentioned that one for "spike buffy love kisses", although on the right lines, had probably not quite produced the soppy Spuffy the searcher was expecting. This led on to a discussion of the way some people will read and enthusiastically review any soppy love story in which the lead characters are given the names "Spike" and "Buffy", no matter how dissimilar they are to the characters from the show.

I gave as a hypothetical example "Buffy is the Prime Minister of Iceland. Spike is a Jivaro headhunter in the Brazilian rain-forest. Can they get together?"

I have to admit, for a minute there I was tempted. But no. Umm. No! Get thee behind me, Plot Bunny!

Plot bunny must die!

Unless you can work in the Buffybot in a credible fashion. Perhaps as Buffy's body double for those tedious EU conferences. (Is Iceland in the EU?) Spike, as representive of the indigenous Brazilian headhunters to a conference on aboriginal peoples in Reykjavic (sp?), meets the Buffybot and must have her head! But when he seduces her back to his hotel room, he finds she's a robot and is crushed (figuratively, so he seeks out the real P.M. Buffy.

Iceland isn't in the EU. I rather like the idea of Spike the headhunter actually taking the head of BuffyBot and then finding out that she's a robot.

Definitely. In fact if I looked hard enough I'd probably find that someone already has. I have, however, thought of a new slant based on a random generator site I saw yesterday.

Buffy is the Prime Minister of Iceland. Spike is a Jivaro headhunter in the Brazilian rain-forest. They fight crime.

It would probably be the only way I could get into double figures of reviews at ff.net.

But that would only be if I took it seriously, and no way could I do that.
