Down the mouse troll

Another 'where did Olaf go?' ficlet. Just a 50 word half drabble and I'm not even going to bother putting it behind a cut.

Down the Mouse Troll

The Brain turned to his companion. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

Olaf’s brows lowered. “I think so, puny Brain, but where are we going to get lands and dwellings to pillage, crops to burn, fragrant ale, plump babies, and attractive females for merry sport at this time of night?”

Put a big smile on my face, need to read the rest and bookmark them for when I am blue!

??? I think I'm too sleepy to get this one. What's "The Brain"?

[identity profile] evilawyer.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
A Warner Brothers cartoon of the mid 1980's --- Pinky and The Brain. Laboratory mice bent on world domination. And Orson Welles impressions.

ah... this is another example of my temperance brennan-like lack of knowledge about pop culture.

Actually [livejournal.com profile] evilawyer has their dates wrong. Pinky and the Brain first appeared as part of 'Animaniacs' on September 13 1993, obtained their own show in 1995, and it ran until September 28 1998. So they are 90s cartoon characters not 80s.

I have used 'Pinky and the Brain' jokes in quite a few of my other fics, most notably in 'Pyromania' where Dead!Cordy and Harmony share an exchange about them and later Harmony sings a parody of the 'Animaniacs' theme song.

He can try...

Nice - but if you post it to TTH you'll need to add a second ficlet to the chapter, they don't allow stories / chapters under 100 words.

Thanks! I'll wait until I have another rodent-related companion piece for it.
