Awards, updates, protests

I've won another Award! Lonely on the Mountain had already won First place in the 'I Like the Quiet' (just Xander) section of the White Knight Awards; it was also nominated for the 'Mbuna Fish' award (Xander in Africa stories), but that award was delayed because of a database error. The results are through now, and I got Runner-up! Thanks to everyone who voted for me. And thanks again to ludditerobot for coming up with the ficathon that inspired me to write it. Here's the Pretty!



I'm still delighted by the response to my latest WIP Life, Resumed, Chapter 5 of which went up this morning. I’ve decided that I’m going to concentrate on that story until it’s finished – it’s not going to be epic length – and so the other WIPs are taking a back seat. There probably won’t be any updates on anything for a few days as I go back to work tonight, although I might knock off a drabble or two.

I had been considering taking part in the Step Apart from Six Apart on 06/06/06 protest by deleting my Journal for the day, but I’ve selfishly decided not to do so. Not when I want to gloat about my award and when I’ve just put a chapter up. But I would like to make it clear that do support the protest. Icons of breast-feeding are not porn and should not be classed as such. And although I have had no intention of ever using such an icon I remember the ‘they came for the Communists, and I did not speak up because I was not a Communist’ scenario. If we let them get away with it they might ban vampire porn next!
