This is a story in the ‘Tabula Avatar’ universe but doesn’t feature any of the Buffyverse characters. It’s a sequel to The Whole of the Moon and, like that story, is about the affairs of the gods of Faerûn. It takes place a few days after Chapter 69 of ‘Tabula Avatar’. Some of the gods mentioned in this story have already cropped up in ‘Tabula Avatar’, or the other stories in the series, but I’d probably better mention, for the benefit of those not familiar with the Forgotten Realms, that the Seldarine are the gods of the Elves. Eilistraee, the good goddess of the Drow, is the daughter of Corellon Larethian, King of the Seldarine, and his first wife Araushnee aka Lolth.
Synopsis: Eilistraee’s new friendship with Shar leads to disapproval from her family, a harsh punishment, and then to extreme danger and a terrible ordeal. 7,750 words exactly, rating R bordering on NC-17. And I really mean that about the rating.

Fic: To the Moon and Back
Oct. 23rd, 2008 06:03 pmDuring my absence I’ve been doing some beta work, playing a bit of ‘Neverwinter Nights 2’, working of course, and also writing and doing research. The next ‘Tabula Avatar’ chapter, featuring a guest appearance from one of the most popular ‘Forgotten Realms’ characters (and no, it’s not Drizzt), required a lot of research and it isn’t finished yet. I have finished the third and final part of the spin-off story about Shar (now given an overall title of ‘The Whole of the Moon’) and here it is.
‘To the Moon and Back’ follows on from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Inconstant Moon. Shar is held captive in Selûne’s prison and must be rescued. 5,000 words exactly, rating PG bordering on R.

Ficlet: Inconstant Moon
Oct. 7th, 2008 08:43 pmI’m continuing the ‘interlude’ in ‘Tabula Avatar’ dealing with the doings of the gods of Faerûn. Here’s another instalment following on from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Shar is trapped and helpless in Selûne’s prison at the Gates of the Moon. Her boyfriend Vhaeraun is plotting the assassination of his sister Eilistraee. It looks as if Shar’s planned alliance is over almost before it began… 3,500 words, PG.

Ficlet: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
Oct. 4th, 2008 10:44 amI’m celebrating my birthday with an indulgence ficlet (now Part 1 of a three-part story titled ‘The Whole of the Moon’). It’s in the ‘Tabula Avatar’ universe, in the near future of the main story, but it doesn’t contain any spoilers as such and doesn’t feature any of the Buffyverse characters – although the events in the ficlet are going to have a colossal effect upon them later. It’s not one of my funny ones. 2,000 words exactly, R for language. The goddess Shar pays a visit to her long-estranged sister. It doesn’t go well…
