A new chapter of Access All Areas, the Spike/Dawn story that I'm co-writing with [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat, is up now. Chapter Eight, in which there is blood. Lots of it.

CW's Spike/Adult Dawn story Ten Years After, was very well received but if it had a flaw it was that it was perhaps a little fluffy and lacking in conflict. The late, sadly missed, [livejournal.com profile] nandibble commented If (as I hope) you continue this tale, please give some thought to throwing some powerful opposition into the mix to avoid blandness.

CW thought hard about this and recruited me to provide said opposition. The sequel is dedicated to Nan and we like to think that she would approve. The result is definitely not bland and, in this chapter, it is about as far from fluffy as you can get.

In other news; 'Tabula Avatar' was nominated in the previous round of the Spark and Burn Awards in the 'Best Crossover' section but there weren't enough nominees and it was carried forward to the next round. This time there are enough nominees and it is possible to vote for it - or, of course, for something else - in the Reader's Choice Poll. I haven't voted myself yet - you have to vote in almost all the categories, with no more than 3 blank votes, and I haven't yet had time to read enough entrants to make an informed vote in most categories - but I thought I'd better bring it to your attention.
