Normal service has been resumed.

My internet connection is back. It turns out that it wasn't the line, it was the router failing to pick it up. I have a spare - but I needed to be on-line to configure it, in one of those impossible logic loops that seem to crop up nine times out of ten, and so the engineer had to go on-line to do it for me.

The spare is actually much better than the one that died but I'd never managed to get it to work - now I know why.

Anyway, I'm back now, and so is the Wombat. There may be fic tonight.
