He had been hiding in the plumber's workshop behind the house. The plumber told the Wombat this morning that he was sure he'd seen the cat in the workshop yesterday but hadn't been able to get him to come out.
I went straight over and searched the place, calling and calling, but there was no answer for ages and I was beginning to think Mr Kennaugh had been imagining things; then, at last, that distinctive yowl like the quack of a duck answered me and a shame-faced Shaka emerged from his hiding place behind a pile of plumbing supplies.
The workshop door had been open quite often during the time Shaka was missing but for some reason he hadn't taken the opportunity to come out and come home. He is a silly, strange, and stupid cat - but we love him and are utterly overjoyed to have him back.
Thank you to everyone who sent best wishes etc. on the previous posts.
Now to get back the Missing Cat posters from the local shops and report to the vets and the cat shelter that they can stop looking out for him.
