Words in the Heroes' Tongue

The SGC people *have* talked to Joan - as will be shown when I get back to 'A Plague of Serpents' - but were handicapped by not wanting to give away anything about the Stargate. They did get as far as discovering that vampires and demons have a presence on Earth, most predominantly in Sunnydale, but at that point decided to leave Joan and company alone to carry on controlling that threat. Jack has even listened to Rupert Giles performing at the Espresso Pump and this might come up in the final part of this story - but I might not mention it, depending on how the chapter works out for length and pacing.
