Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] sambony the Aikido librarian

In other news: I've been fanficced! [livejournal.com profile] booster17 has written a Tabula Avatar fanfic called Cobblers!. Admittedly it was written as a 20th Wedding Anniversary present for me and [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat rather than Booster having been irresistibly driven to write it by the compelling qualities of my deathless prose, but it was still very much a "Squee!" moment to see it.

And in yet other news: I've substantially revised the Ats/A-Team crossover drabble that I posted yesterday to make it the first of a series. I might even post it on 'Twisting the Hellmouth'!

Here is the second part. Also 100 words, rating G. It's an LJ milestone for me; it's the 200th entry in my Memories.

Mad World

Murdock shooed his invisible dog from the bed so that Hannibal Smith could sit down. “Captain Murdock reporting for duty, Colonel!” he barked. Literally.

Hannibal didn’t bat an eyelid. He quickly briefed Murdock on their latest mission. “We just have to get you out of the psycho ward,” he finished.

“Let me get this straight, Colonel. We go through a wormhole made by magnets into a Hell dimension and fight monsters to rescue the son of two vampires who was kidnapped by an eighteenth-century vampire hunter?”

“That’s about it, Murdock,” Smith confirmed.

Murdock’s eyes rolled. “And they say I’m crazy.”

Just read 'Cobblers' and all I can say is (takes a deep breath)

OH DEAR LORD, IT'S CONTAGIOUS.

Thanks for continuing the A-Team piece, the drabble form is the perfect mode to do a story like this.

Don't suppose you will ever do anything with a Benny Hill theme? Having Dru and Spike chased by a bunch of Poles to the tune of 'Yakety Sax' might be nice.

Admittedly, I don't normally go for the big bad puns, but I have been known to do bad ones before.

Hee!

Thank you!

No, I very much doubt if I will ever do anything with a Benny Hill theme.

Having Spike chased by Buffy, Harmony, Willow, Tara, and the Adorable Buffybot Faith, all in bras, panties, and stockings and high heels, is a fun visual but I have no idea how I could ever make it work in a ....

Hmmm. Sunnydale Passions? I might come up with something yet.

Well, when you put it like that .....

Substantial revisions to a drabble sounds like something that shouldn't really be possible. Still, they were good revisions.

I had to revise it first because I had Baracus saying 'damn plane' rather than just 'plane', and then I decided to make the rationale for limited supplies more logical, and then I realised that I needed B.A. Baracus' gold rings and chains to go to Quortoth, and eventually I had more or less totally rewritten it three times.

To be fair, I kept meaning to write that for a while, but it was the Anniversary that actually knocked me into doing it. Your deathless prose is still as groan-inducinggood as ever.

And still enjoying this drabble series. The time thing's gonna be tight by the time they get there though...

The time thing was always tight with the A-Team. There was always a mad scramble near the end.

I visualise him wearing a pink shower cap in that scene, for some reason, but there wasn't any way of working that into the drabble.

LOL! I love it! I used to watch the A-Team with my dad. It was our thing when I was young.

Arf! I'd forgotten how just about every episode started off with Hannibal, Face and Mr. T busting Murdock out of a psych ward somewhere!

Now you've done it. I'm going to have to do a search to remember just what all of the team members look like. :) Very cute way to do this!

I've probably said this a thousand times and I'll most likely keep saying it, but you are one of the best authors out there. You always manage to bring humour and some sillyness into a story. I'm always laughing when I'm reading one of your works :D
