I'm not disturbed by the chapter only being 1880 words; I have a slight obsession with numbers and I think that it is particularly appropriate that the word count should echo William's date of turning. I just thought that readers would be disappointed that it wasn't longer, as the shortest of the previous chapters was 2,360 words.
