This week I'm working days. The day shift are short-staffed and have borrowed me from the night shift - even though we've got someone off long-term sick and are short ourselves - but they are the ones who have the attention of the bosses (who work days themselves, of course) and we just have to put up with it.

I'm still doing 10-hour shifts, and 10 hours at crushingly high call volume is going to be ultra stressful and exhausting. I'm likely to be even more shattered and short of time for my F-list than if I was working my normal nights. I may well miss fic updates, birthdays, appeals for help, etc. I'll try to keep up, but no promises.

And I have to wear a suit and tie. First time since April. I think it's pointless (the public do not have access to the Call Centre) and uncomfortable and generally stupid. And sexist, as women can wear virtually what they like.
