Crossover drabble: What's In A Name?
Apr. 20th, 2014 08:55 amWhen I see a mention of a character, and I know the name, I tend to assume that it’s one with which I am familiar. This works fine with Buffy, and Legolas, and Viconia; they’re unique. With some other characters it’s not so clear-cut. ‘Sam’, for instance, could be Sam Gamgee, Sam Carter, Sam Vimes, Fireman Sam, Sam Spade, or some bloke with a brother called Dean who appears in a series only watched by women. And a recent giant monster movie featured a character with a very unusual name that had been used in a surprising number of previous books, movies, and TV shows. Recently I have seen this particular version appearing in summaries of fics by
killerweasel and it led my mind off in other directions. This crossover double-drabble is the result.
Pacific Rim plus crossovers with actual history, an old Western show, an old TV series recently rebooted as a film, and a novel series that has been filmed several times and now is a TV show. 200 words, PG.
