Here is the fifth in my series of AtS/Moby Dick crossover drabbles. The previous ones are HERE.
100 words, G. Contains dialogue from the AtS Season 1 episode ‘To Shanshu in LA’.
“Shanshu has roots in many different languages,” Wesley explained. “The most ancient source is the Proto-Bantu and they consider life and death the same thing. It's part of a cycle. Only a thing that's not alive never dies. It's saying that you get to live until you die. You become human.”
“That's the prophecy?” Cordelia asked. “Angel, human?”
“The vampire with a soul, once he fulfills his destiny, will Shanshu. Become human,” Wesley confirmed. “It's his reward.”
Angel smiled. “That'd be nice.”
Queequeg frowned. “That’s odd. In my Polynesian tongue ‘Shanshu’ means ‘become a felt puppet with a detachable nose’.”
