I've always thought "Cloak of mist" is your best work, too. I can see why it might not be your most popular though; it requires a little more active participation from the reader. Plus of course there's the whole "No Spike" thing!
My favorites are sill "Working for the Yankee dollar" and "Pandora's Boxer" though. Yeah, I'm a big old sap!
