Monkey Business

“Pain? What pain?” Willow asked.

“Observe!” D’Hoffryn commanded, and with a wave of his hand he opened a dimensional viewing portal.

Willow gazed through it, and saw her friends in a crypt battling against a horde of demons. Buffy was being choked by one demon. Spike and Xander were trying to barricade the door. Anya was chanting, attempting to summon D’Hoffryn. The defenders were weakening and the demons gaining the upper hand.

Willow’s mouth opened wide with surprise and horror. “Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle!” she exclaimed, eyes flashing blue. “Ook!”

Blame it on my innocence (which makes an aperance once or twice a year) or my lack of understanding when it comes to some cultural references. but i dont Get it!

English really, so Willow probably wouldn't say it, but she could have picked the expression up from Giles.

"I'll be a monkey's uncle!" is an English expression indicating extreme surprise. She's still under the "my will be done" spell from "Something Blue" - so suddenly she's an adult male monkey.
